The Great Nuneaton Poppy Project

How You Can Get Involved

We warmly invite anyone who enjoys knitting, crocheting or crafting to take part. Every poppy, no matter how simple or intricate, will contribute to the final installation.

  • Knit, crochet or craft your own poppies
  • Create as many as you’d like
  • All skill levels are welcome

Patterns & Materials

To make things as simple as possible, we’ve provided downloadable poppy patterns.

You can knit, crochet or craft your poppies using any materials you have available—red yarn or fabric is most commonly used, but all contributions are welcome.

All skill levels are encouraged to take part, whether you’re creating your first poppy or your fiftieth.

If you already have completed poppies, or once you’re ready to contribute your creations, please contact the organiser listed on this event page to arrange collection or delivery.

Details regarding collection points, installation and unveiling timings will be shared closer to Remembrance Day 2026.

Join us for a relaxed community picnic in support of the Great Nuneaton Poppy Project. Bring your picnic, chair, and enthusiasm as we work together to create thousands of handmade poppies that will form a stunning Remembrance display on Nuneaton Town Hall.

Whether you knit, crochet, or would simply like to learn, everyone is welcome. Come along, meet fellow members of the community, and help create something truly meaningful.

Tuesday, 4 August | From 5:00pm | Bandstand, Riversley Park, Nuneaton
